- 2 L pure, unsweetened apple cider (or unfiltered, unsweetened apple juice)
- 1 small orange, whole
- 1 inch piece of ginger root, peeled and sliced
- ½ tsp whole cloves
- 4 star anise
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Garnish: cinnamon sticks, star anise and/or fresh cranberries and apple slices
Poke holes in the skin of the orange with a skewer and insert whole cloves.
Place all ingredients (except for garnish) in a slow cooker on low.
Forget about it for about 3 ½ to 4 hours and go about your day.
Serve hot, garnished with a cinnamon stick and any other preferred garnishes.
